In my rush to sleep the night before, I neglected to remove the bandage on my toe. Doing so in the morning revealed the truth; my nail was no longer firmly attached. Rather than leave it to chance and have it ripped off against my will, I made the executive decision to rip it off myself and deal with the consequences. Similar to my approach for removing band-aids, quicker would be better. So with a deep breath and little fanfare I took hold and pulled sharply. More resistance than I suspected, a little ripped skin (the cuticle was still partly attached) and the job was done. Foot freedom was upon me!
